Change control

A schema change to a critical field can quietly break a regulatory report weeks later. Here, every change to the CDE registry goes through one decision door: proposed by one person, reviewed by another, and sealed on the ledger with the impact analysis attached. There is no side path around it.

What you get01 / 03
01

Maker-checker review applies to every change to a critical element, covering definition, tier, owner, and mapping, and self-approval is blocked outright.

02

Impact analysis is attached before the decision: every downstream report and calculation the change touches, drawn from lineage.

03

One decision door handles everything, so a change from a steward, a project, or an agent travels the same reviewed and sealed path.

04

Agents can propose changes, but only a person can approve one.

05

Sealing fails closed: if the ledger record cannot be written, the change is refused rather than proceeding unlogged.

06

Drift is caught as a finding: a critical field changed in a source system outside the process surfaces as an unapproved change, not a silent update.

How it works02 / 03
1

Propose

A change is drafted with its rationale and the elements it touches.

2

Assess

The platform attaches the blast radius from lineage, covering every report, model, and consumer downstream.

3

Review

A different person approves or rejects the change, and the maker and the checker are never the same person.

4

Seal

The approval and its evidence are written to the hash-chained ledger before the change takes effect.

Questions it answers03 / 03

“Who approved this change, and what did they see when they approved it?”

Every approval is written to the hash-chained ledger together with the rationale and the impact analysis the checker reviewed. The record shows the approver, the decision, and exactly what evidence was in front of them.

“What would this change break downstream?”

Before any decision is made, the platform attaches the blast radius from lineage: every downstream report, model, and consumer the change touches. Reviewers see the full impact before they approve.

“How do you catch changes that bypass the process?”

A critical field changed in a source system outside the process surfaces as an unapproved change and is raised as a finding, not absorbed as a silent update. There is one decision door, and any drift around it is made visible.

The next step

Start with proof, not a promise.

There are three ways in, and each one earns the next. You approve the exit criteria before we spend any more of your time or budget.

01

A 60-minute working session

Bring one report that is expensive to prove. We walk the mechanism against it. Nothing is required from your side.

02

A two-week guided sandbox

Your team works hands-on against a synthetic sample bank. It requires zero access to your systems and zero procurement.

03

A six-week proof on your systems

We use read-only metadata across five systems and one priority report, scored against criteria both sides sign first. The decision it produces is yours.
